Bald Eagle locations in Arizona
Haliaetus Leucocephalus

The Bald Eagle in this picture we spotted at Silverbell Lake, in Christopher Columbus Park in west Tucson. Unfortunately, this bird was later electrocuted on a Tucson power pole. Bald Eagles in the Tucson valley are extremely rare, and this was an unexpected treat that we should not expect to re-occur any time soon.
However, Bald Eagles can be seen in Sulfur Springs Valley in the winter, especially at Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area. They seem to enjoy feasting on the plethora of Sandhill Cranes that winter in the shallow water there.
